In Evony News, it seems the suggest sequel 'FogWar' 'NapWar' is not actually from the UMGE gaming house.

Napwar is from the SOHO Union, but interestingly the game interface and feel is much like evony free forever.

The engine or game core has been used possibly, but there seems no other apparently link between either of these 2 gaming design houses out of china.

Gamers and particularly those in the free browser RTS arena are awaiting anxiously for the Evony Age II sequel but lets hope that isn't like these NapWars and FogWars time filler games.

If there ever was a time when Oz lovers were vilified for their passion it may be this week as Oz and the world celebrates 70 years of timeless wonder. For those of us who grew up watching this magical event once a year...

I have always been a wizard of Oz fan, it is probably my favorite movie of all time. Yet, maybe I never really understood the genuine mystic, magic behind this 1939 masterpiece until two years ago when my daughter was just a year old. I'll never forget as the Lion (the lovable Bert Lahr) burst from the woods with a cowardly persona disguised by a false intimidation. Little Anna's eyes were as wide as they could get, fixated on this furry, unfamiliar character. She was mesmerized as I was over 40 years ago at my first Oz viewing. This movie really took you inside, like an out of body experience onto the "yellow brick road".

This week to celebrate this historical event was one-shot theatrical runs of Oz in high definition in nearly 400 cities. And, This Wizard, hits stores on Sept. 29 in a newly remastered Hi-Def DVDs and Blu-ray.

As a collector of original vintage movie memorabilia the Wizard of Oz was my earliest collecting passions. And, 25 years later it may be the most popular of all my categories on my vintage treasures web site. From autographed photos of Oz cast members to original movie posters, these are examples of Oz treasures collectors can't get enough of. To give you an example of the demand for original vintage Oz memorabilia. Last week an authentically autographed photo in character of the "Good Witch Glinda" sold for over $11,000.

For Oz and autograph collectors an autographed photo in Oz character of Glinda is highly scarce as only ONE other has ever surfaced on the market prior to last week's auction. Other scarce Oz signed photos are Frank Morgan as the Wizard (sold for over $10,000), Judy Garland as "Dorothy" (sell for over $20,000) and the Bert Lahr as the "Lion" (sells for over $10,000). The original movie posters can sell in excess of $50,000. However, since an original Wizard of OZ one sheet movie poster has never surfaced in the marketplace, a value of over $100,000 would be no surprise. Hence, if you are a collector of Oz memorabilia, you have good taste, not to mention wise investment intuition.

Other events this week include A 71/2-story hot-air balloon that began touring the country since taking off May 13 from Kansas City, Kan., stops Thursday at New York's Tavern on the Green. The gala features Judy Garland's daughter Lorna Luft, surviving Munchkins and Ashanti, who plays Dorothy in New York City Center's production of The Wiz. All this and a yellow brick carpet, too.

Also to celebrate Oz turning 70 this week Ashanti will light the Empire State Building - Emerald City-green, of course. All of this to commemorate what many believe to be the greatest movie ever produced. Just think, 70 years later, with all the technology and Hollywood talent, nothing has since come close.

If you're looking for an exciting and free browser based online game, it's worth checking out Evony by UMGE. Followed by the catch-cry 'Free Forever', Evony is an offering to hardcore online gaming fans that enjoy the MMORPG and possbily Real Time Strategy genres in games.

Reliability Update

Twitter has been making great progress in terms of uptime and
reliability. Fail Whale sightings are far less frequent these
days thanks to our efforts but we still have a long journey
ahead. Last month we saw 99.88% uptime and so far this month we
are at 99.96%. Our engineering and operations teams have been
taking a very methodical approach to improving Twitter. We're
using the word "craftsmanship" to characterize our work here at
the office. Reliability and dependability continue to be top on
or list of key goals.

API Improvements

Developers who build interesting new ways to interact with
Twitter are an important part of our success. Until recently,
our API was supported by one engineer in his spare time. That
engineer is Alex Payne and he's our new API Lead. Alex is joined
by Matt Sanford and together they will focus 100% of their
efforts on the Twitter API. New features are already being added
and we'll be able to respond faster to the developer community

Our New Office

This summer, Twitter moved it's official world headquarters. We
only moved a few blocks away so we're still in the SoMa
neighborhood in San Francisco, but what a difference. The new
space is big, sunny, and open. We have lots of room for company

whole company can watch a movie on Friday nights. We're now a
team of 24 full time employees and some contractors so movie
night usually draws a good crowd.

Hi NRL,

Refunds can be a big problem for digital products...
after all, the customer doesn't have to go through
the process of sending anything back!

(Although I do find it funny when someone says "I've
already deleted your product from my hard drive."
Like it matters to me!)

I tell you what... in the past, my refund rate was
MUCH higher.

For example... in 2007, I ran a training program
with a 10% refund rate!

I quickly discovered the problem (I'll show you
what I do now be low), and now my refund rate is
generally about 1%, rarely above 2%.

For my last two training programs, I've received
a total of 2 refund requests (out of a couple
hundred sales).

But they were the BEST kind of refund request I
could get...

"Sorry Brian, I just don't have time to implement
all of this high quality training material!"

I can live with that :-)

So... here's what I do:

1) Have sales copy that ACCURATELY describes what
you're offering (i.e. no hype, just the facts)

2) Provide prompt, courteous customer service.

3) OVERDELIVER by giving even more than what was
promisded.

4) Relate to your customers on a personal level.

That's really it... those simple insights have
dropped my refund rate by 1,000%!

Put them to use, and you'll see more of your sales
go right into your pocket ;-)

This is just a fact. Now, if you look at it,
the main difference is that the former one will
only generate frustration and even more excuses
to procrastinate!

Of course it's obvious...and everyone knows it.

Now, the paradox is why 99% of people knowing it
are still looking for excuses!

It's obvious but still most won't move a finger
to change things! It's not rational, and it's
purely related to how enjoyable an easy
and confortable procrastinating attitude can be.

I am not blaming anyone for procrastinating :-)
But if you're not feeling confortable with
your own attitude, then YOU can change it
and this will change the way you're handling
your life forever.

Now, this article is not about giving
lessons, or infusing a subliminal message to my
readers.

It's about helping those who are willing
to switch from that so-easy-but-not-that-

rewardable
procrastinating-blaming-attitude to the

"I am willing to start something within the
next 30 minutes and step out of this negative
mindset".

Nothing fancy, nothing complex. Just a few steps,
for those willing to simply start something
on their own.

If you follow those simple steps, then you
will have your niche web site up and running
in less than 30 minutes.

I am firm believer that in order for
anyone to take action online and
start any niche project, Wordpress
is the way to go:

- no technical skills required
(you can really install a blog with the click
of a button)

- Real Content Management System

- Ability to easily change / edit the theme
of your web site.

- Ability to add tons of features (with the use
of plugins)

These are the reasons why this blogging platform
is so powerful and successful.

No doubt it will be the leading platform
for years to come. Blogger blogs are now
far behind and won't be able to
take the lead back.

But it's not just a blogging platform.
It's a real web site platform. Blogging
is now becoming a generic term to
describe people publishing content online :-)

So don't get stuck by the word "Blogging",
thinking that it's for 'legacy bloggers'
or some kind of 'elite marketers'.

A blog is the fastest way to start
your online business.

It will allow you to focus on what
your added values should be:

- Writing down your ideas

- Promoting and marketing them

Since you can focus on those 2 tasks
within 5 minutes of getting an idea,
this is simply what you should do.

You will be able to test traffic
generation technics and tactics,
link building; you will be able
to start contacting related niche
web site owners to exchange content, links,
ads...

You will be able to analyze what your
visitors are expecting from a site
like yours, you will be able to capture
leads, survey them, upsell them...

That's it. With this measly investment,
you can claim you're a niche marketer...

blueprints... without being able
to decide when to stop reading and
start acting.

It looks like the perceived barrier
is too high for them, and the potential
reward not worth the risk of taking action.

Based on your current skills and
knowledge, you could of course
improve the process. But then,
it would mean you're not stuck
within this procrastination syndrom...

Elton took a swipe at Lily, Lily hit back at Elton, then some other bloke insulted Elle.

It was one of the livelier GQ Men of the Year Awards nights in recent history, The Times of London reported.

And the entertainment world's top brass witnessed the entire spectacle.

Pop singer Lily Allen, 23, made her first mistake, slurping champagne non-stop on stage with co-host Elton John, 61.

The music veteran - and teetotaller - indulged his offsider's slurred words and swearing but couldn't resist a tiny dig.

When Allen told the star-studded Royal Opera House audience, "Now we reach a very special point in the evening," John sniped: "What, you are going to have another drink?"

The 23-year-old popette, gussied up in a floor-sweeping ball gown, responded: "F--- off Elton, I'm 40 years younger than you, I have my whole life ahead of me."

And never one to disappoint, the Rocket Man declared: "I could still snort you under the table."

Onlookers, including Elle Macpherson, Gordon Ramsay and Thandie Newton, must have enjoyed the display.

But the Australian mega-model could not avoid her own cameo in the evening's shenanigans when she presented Primal Scream with their band of the year gong.

Bass player Gary "Mani" Mounfield took one look at the towering beauty and said: "F---ing hell, a giraffe in a dress. Nice one."

The Oscars need this kind of controversy.

Prepare for Power Blackouts

The USA has been well help by its electrical power grid for about 125 years, and for the most part, everything's been running OK. However, if there's one thing that experience has taught us, it's that the more reliant we are on electricity, the more it hurts during those rare occasions when it's gone. Most folks are not well prepared for blackouts.

When a big blackout hit New York City in the seventies, it resulted in widespread looting, vandalism and violence. In comparison, the massive blackout of 2003 that disrupted electricity to 50 million people across Ontario and eight U.S. states for up to four days was more a severe headache than an occasion to run wild. Still, it brought a new level of awareness to millions -- that being prepared is not so much a crazy survivalist notion as a common-sense necessity.

It's important to be prepared at all times, but especially during the summer months -- the so-called "blackout season" runs from the middle of the summer (mid-July) until the end of September -- and in the dead of winter when ice storms can bring down power lines.

This guide aims to give some pointers to help you prepare your home for the next power outage and to help keep you and your family safe during the next blackout.

Let's nail down some key points today about your ads
themselves. Ready? Let's go..

** Don't Use The Word 'Ads' - It's A Dirty Word

I want to tell you a secret. Don't tell anyone - unless
you want to forward this email onto another website
owner you know who would benefit from this advice. ;o)

Here's the deal;

The best way to boost your AdSense clickthrough rate is to
stop thinking of the ads as ads. The moment you do this
you start to see the whole thing in a new way.

Think about this logically for a moment. You're surfing on
the Internet and you see something that is unmistakably an
ad. What do you do?

a) Rush over to click on the ad because you love those
things

b) Laugh excitedly at the prospect of being taken away from
the interesting content you're reading

c) Ignore it saying to yourself "that's an ad"

It's c) right? Well I hope it is! But the point is -
people hate ads, we're all suffering from ad-blindness,
ad-avoidance and ad-overload. So what if you could make
your AdSense ads look less like ads and more like helpful
snippets of information?

Woah there Michael! You're scaring me now, what are you
suggesting to me?

All I'm saying is that if you put this theory at the heart
of your mission to build a cash-generating AdSense empire
you will get there before everyone else.

Alright Michael - how can I do this? Give me some examples!

Look, I don't want to give ALL my methods away because I've
saved that for serious, dedicated people who buy the videos
(nudge, nudge!) but here's some tip-ettes;

- Don't use the standard Google colour scheme, it just
screams "I am an ad, hate me and ignore me!"

- Get a picture in your mind of what the most typical ads
look like on the web then create your AdSense ads so that
they are exactly the opposite

- Ads are garish creatures that like to be bright, loud and
stand out in a crowd. We all know this. So making your
AdSense ads exactly the opposite means they can 'sneak under
the radar'

- You've seen a boxing match right? Where's all the action?
In the middle. In the ring. Where are the ads that are
paraded around between rounds? In the ring - the centre of
everyone's attention. Where's the 'action' on each of your
pages? Your ads need to be in the same place.

Let's just be clear about this. I'm not talking about
misleading your visitors. I'm just saying that you need to
have ads that don't look like the standard ads people
expect to see. Obviously your visitors will still know they
are ads because they'll have the 'Ads by Google' text next
to them.

This is not about pulling the wool over visitor's eyes - it's
about creating a browsing experience which makes them feel at
ease rather than on edge.

Great to hear from you and hear what's been happening. Congratulations on your new company (may it go from strength to strength). Funny how these things work out. We'd tried contacting you a while back so explains why we didn't get any replies (all will be revealed...)

Are you sitting comfortably, then I'll try to give quick catch up as to what's been happening. Big news of this year (as of two and a half months ago) is that Nick is now a proper Mister i.e. he married Helen in Ireland in June. He's now a kept man (OK, so works for himself whilst Helen jets all over the world on the European golf tour for the TV production company). A right shindig it was too... but nothing on the stag week in Soll!!!! You would have been proud of the boy, and Soll is (was until we got there!) gone fairly up market (and virtually no drag lifts!! - just as well because Nick and Ross and still pants on them!!)! We'd tried to get you to join us, hence the attempted contact (honest!). Rosco has a son (Harrison) who is just over a year old (he married Ominda - an Aussie - 4? years ago). Ross works for the chain that own Tiger Tiger and is their hot shot whiz kid and getting places back on their feet again. Mikaela, not to be left out, is getting married to Ben next Feb (14th!). Syd has settled down with Heidi and they've bought a house together in Ruislip. Clock just seems to be getting bigger and bigger www.clock.co.uk - a bit like some of our waist lines!!! Bonesy hasn't changed and still gives us a run for our money (and came to Soll!!).... and last (but by no means least) there's Ali and me! Ali was made redundant about 2.5 years ago (her company CEO is now being tried for a billion dollar fraud!) and joined a start-up company in the summer. Still loves it and they have been getting bigger recently and now have a second office (in Monaco - alright for some!). She's really into her horse riding and apart from one or two hiccups has been doing pretty well this year competing in eventing competitions. We're off diving in October (her first holiday this year - well she couldn't exactly come on the stag do could she??!) but need to go shopping before hand as we were burgled last year and apart from my dive watch they stole one of our gear bags and one (yes one) of her dive boots!!

So yes, come to London and don't be shy! Will be great to see the both of you for a long overdue catch up. You're welcome to stay with us in the sticks

Music to CD

I've been looking for some of the best ways to get my Music to CD, I've tried Nero Burning ROM and Roxio Easy CD Creator, but I am looking for something a little bit more advanced and more powerful in terms of tools.

Any suggests and approximate costs of the CD burning package would be appreciated. I am just moving up from a low level of music mastering and music to cd publication - hopefully in the future my band will have a little more money to get things done slightly more professionally, but at the moment my music to cd creation is all done from home on the PC in a garage studio! Cost cutting yes, but lucky the standards now are getting so much better and PCs can perform good enough with the right software - to make non-music house backed productions actually compete in the charts.

Anyway, I am ranting here - look forward to tips from anyone out there.

I've recently written some posts about taking your music to cd from various forms of software. From the likes of Ahead Nero Burning Rom, Easy CD Creator and Music Match Jukebox; which is the best way (easily) to get your music to cd?

If you are simply looking at pushing your MP3 collection to Cd I would recommend simply using MusicMatch jukebox. However if you are trying to get an older record collection (vinyl or something similar) into digital format I would recommend something like Music Match initially to get the music to digital mp3 format or something with higher quality - but then use a program such as Nero Burning ROM to send the higher quality recordings to CD.

Either way, pushing your music to cd is a smarter and safer way of doing things. Storing your old collection on vinyl might be nostalgic, but dangerous and of a poor quality. Ease of access too is a big benefit of pushing your music to cd.

Imagine being able to call up your music to cd collection instantly while holding a party and have no risk of the music 'jumping'? Handy? Well its possible and very simple to achieve.

NRL Pressure on South Sydney Rugby League club

The pressure continues to mount on NRL club the South Sydney Rabbitohs. As the 2008 Rugby League season gets well underway, the Rabbitohs are winless after 4 Rounds.

The Storm now get to keep their win and results will prove all important towards the end of the 2008 - even though we have just completed Round 1 2008 of the NRL.

Paul Vautin host of the Footy Show and former Manly NRL star, has been happy by the news his son Matt Vautin has been signed by NRL Side the Gold Coast Titans. Aged 17, the up and coming rugby league star Matt Vautin is poised to boost the outside backs ranks at the Titans and chances of seeing the son of fatty in action in 2008 seem good.

The Titans make their 2nd attempt at the NRL premiership in 2008 after slightly missing the finals in 2007.

Sydney - Kings Cross Accomodation

When staying in Sydney, many travelers tend to stay in the Kings Cross and Potts Point area for cheap access to hotels, motels and hostels. The Kings Cross area has plenty of night life, shuttle buses and easy access to the greater city region of Sydney for travelers.

The only concern for holidaying tourists and backpackers is that some areas of Kings Cross can be a little risky. Certain areas are prone to theft, drug use (NSW shooting gallery) and many 'adult' themed clubs and zones.

By day its fairly safe and accessible, however care needs to be taken at night and traveling around in Kings Cross alone on foot is not recommended.

The Kings Cross Police Station is close by which is helpful, and is regularly staffed with many officers. (The Station is located near the famous Bourbon and Beefsteak Hotel and the famous Kings Cross Fountain)

Other clubs such as the Empire are busy and action packed of a nite.

The Kings Cross area does not sleep, so noise can be an issue for certain hotels and areas around the busy night spot. Take this into account before booking hotels and motels in the area.

Melbourne Train Crash 11 Dead

Melbourne, Australia - a brutal train crash has left 10 Australians dead and 1 New Zealander dead.

Police Constable Wayne Wilson said Disaster and Victim Identification staff finished removing the body parts of the victims from the train wreckage today.

The V/Line electric train on route from Swan Hill to Melbourne collided with a large semi-trailer at a level crossing near the Murray Valley Highway, 6 kilometres to the north of the Kerang.

Relatives of the dead and from the families of a 13-year-old boy and an older woman, both from suburb Swan Hill, who died in the crash, made an teary and emotional pilgrimage to the crash site accompanied by several emergency workers and grief counsellors.

Cordoned off sections from the media; the families were allowed to grieve in their own time and in peace.
Some of them sat alone, with their horror thoughts on a grass verge near the mangled carriages while others quietly stood with their heads dipped as they wiped tears from their face.

Police Inspector Mick Talbot said police had a good idea for closure and for people to see what actually happened here.

All the names of the train victims have not been released.

"There was a person who sadly died in a Melbourne hospital and 10 of the bodies were recovered at the train wreck site," Police Constable Wilson said.

A 32-year-old New Zealand man from Wellington is among those who died.

Victorian coroner Iain West says the bodies will be transported to Melbourne for examination.

The death toll was revised up to 11 after Disaster Victim Identification Squad members finished removing the remains of victims from the wreckage today, Senior Constable Wilson said.

Temporary morgue set up

A temporary morgue was set up at the scene of the crash.

There were about eight bodies in the second carriage, a Victoria Police spokeswoman said.

Two people are still unaccounted for and it's not known whether they boarded the train or are among the victims.

Police say 23 people remain in a critical or serious condition.

Victorian Opposition Leader Ted Baillieu and Nationals leader Peter Ryan visited the scene today, expressing their condolences to family members of the crash victims and praising emergency services for their work.

Both leaders said it was too soon to discuss the circumstances of the accident or attribute blame.

"This is a tragedy. [There are] a lot of traumatised people and clearly there's still a lot of work to do," Mr Baillieu said.

"Today's not the time to make any other comments other than to say our prayers are with everybody affected."

Survivor tells of horror

A survivor of the train crash told today of the horror on board.

A passenger identified as Lenley Fraser said she heard a "big bang'', and her carriage filled with dust and debris.

"I saw the lady sitting across from me had facial wounds and another lady was thrown to the floor with blood coming out of her mouth and eye," Ms Fraser told the Nine Network.

She praised the staff on the train for their help after the crash.

"The staff were really excellent,'' she said.

"They were saying to help one another because we can't help you all."

Police ask for patience

Victorian police are asking for patience as they search the train wreckage at Kerang for any more bodies before looking into the cause of the crash.
